GRYPHON

LARGE BEAST

The majestic gryphon is described by karthian lore as a large flying beast with the body of a lion and the feathered wings and head of an eagle. One of the greatest predators of the skies, gryphons are largely solitary creatures dwelling in the northern Karthian regions and further beyond. Gryphons mate with a singular partner for life and are extremely territorial, designating a hunting ground near where they nest and chasing and killing anything else that nears it.

GRYPHON CULTURE

Gryphons, having a lesser intelligence, do not have culture per say. They live as singular couples that compete for territory. Gryphons will choose a forested valley with cliffs or highlands nearing the base and lower sections of mountains as their nesting spot and will traditionally never leave that spot once chosen, unless chased out by something larger.

GRYPHON RELIGION

Gryphons are beasts of nature and therefore have no religion, but will respect faeic creatures as well as the greater powers and spirits of nature.

GRYPHON DIMORPHISMS

While the male and female of the gryphon species are nigh-identical in their sizes and shapes, the male gryphon tends to have white and gold feathering while the female tends to have a more muted brown colouring.
